DRA PROPERTIES, L.C. is an Ankeny based real estate development company that was founded in 1992 by Dennis Albaugh. Albaugh, owner and Chief Executive Officer of Albaugh, Inc., a global agricultural chemical company, decided to venture into real estate to have a positive impact on his hometown of Ankeny, Iowa. “Ankeny has always been my home town—I grew up here, I raised my family here, and now my daughters are raising their families in Ankeny. My goal in real estate development has always been to create a lifestyle that all of Ankeny can enjoy and be proud of.”

DRA took on its first residential real estate project; Country Club Court located in Ankeny that same year and is proud of the community that the development has become today. Since that time, DRA has developed several other properties including:

Currently, DRA Properties is the master developer for the Prairie Trail Development. Albaugh has always had interest in developing this 1,031 acre project as he used to farm the land as he was growing up. Prairie Trail, to be built adjacent to DMACC’s Ankeny Campus, coincidently Albaugh’s Alma mate, is a 1,000 acre planned community located in Ankeny, Iowa built on the tradition of Iowa’s great neighborhoods. It’s a tapestry of diverse and distinctive homes, tree-lined streets, neighborhood stores, nearby offices, schools, parks, and greenbelts. It will be a walkable development with less traffic, more sidewalk, and trails that connect the entire development to the City of Ankeny.
